Making A Home Your Family Will Love

When it comes to creating a gorgeous interior space, your home will only be as beautiful as your family allows it to be. If your children don't respect the space, your home will quickly fall back into disrepair, which is why I started focusing more and more on home and garden a few years ago. I was committed to creating a great space that was just as clean and gorgeous as it was functional, and I was really surprised to see how much of a difference my efforts made. Within a few short years, my place really seemed a lot more open, airy, and inviting. Check out this blog for great ideas on making a family-oriented home.

Complete A Project That Will Protect And Beautify Your Rose Garden

by Alice Howard

If you work hard to care for your rose garden, you may be conscious of keeping your plant beds safe. If the bushes are located in a high traffic area, use a combination of paving materials and mulch to protect the plants and beautify the land that surrounds each bush.

Choose Pavers And A Mulch Product

Pavers consist of concrete blocks, bricks, slabs, and interlockable hardscaping materials that are designed to create a patterned surface, and can be used to create a border and a surface that can be walked upon.

Decide if you would like to add one single material around the entire area where your roses are growing, or if you would like to accent the bushes and create a mulch border, each consisting of different colors and textures. One idea is to create a narrow border around the bushes, which is constructed of concrete blocks or pavers.

Another mulch border can be added around the base of each rose bush. If you want to add two border materials, you can also use two colors of mulch, if you would like to make the rose garden plot colorful.

Research various mulch types and choose an organic product that hasn't been dyed or that has been dyed with a vegetable-based product. Purchase hardscaping materials and mulch in bulk. The plot size and the design you are adding can be furnished when shopping for the materials, to guarantee you are supplied with plenty of materials to complete the project.

Add The Materials

Before you lay down any paving materials or mulch, clear and level the property that surrounds the bushes. Use a straight edge to aid with marking the areas where paving blocks will be installed.

If you chose a multi-dimensional border, which consists of a main border and separate borders that are located within the confines of the rose garden, plan on using the same amount of space to create a border and room for the addition of the mulch.

Use square or rectangle-shaped borders, both for the primary and secondary borders that are being added to your property. Choose one mulch variety for the layer that will be within the confines of the garden, but that won't be directly next to a plant. Use an alternate mulch variety to fill in the borders that have been added around the bushes.

For more information about buying mulch in bulk, contact a local garden supplier, like Fick Supply.
